Plot: The documentary, after an introduction to Rome and some of its historic churches, shows Pope John XXIII on a trip to Loreto and Assisi before the opening of the Second Vatican Council; shows the arrival of bishops and cardinals in Italy, focuses on the inauguration ceremony of the Council and concludes with the pope's address to the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square after a torchlight procession at night
