Bio: Katya Romero is a salvadoran filmmaker, photojournalist and human rights advocate. With a passion of storytelling through community, she wrote and directed "La Ciudad de las Sirenas" (The City of Sirens) (2024) a short film which won the Best Fiction Short Film Award from the El Salvador Film School (ESCINE) at its annual Salvadoran Film Festival in 2024
